Senior Propulsion Engineer
THE ROLE
As a Senior Propulsion Engineer, you will be responsible for:
CAD modeling and design of solid rocket propulsion components and infrastructure
Preparation and review of manufacturing drawings
Modeling, simulation, and analysis of designs using tools such as FEA and CFD
Ensuring compliance with and introducing improvements to engineering and quality management processes and standards
Mentoring team members
Leading the assembly and testing of propulsion components
Criteria – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
5+ years of experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of and experience with applying professional engineering processes
Ability to obtain a National Security Clearance. This requires candidates to be Australian citizens
Experience with a CAD package
Experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis using tools such as FEA and CFD
Ability to solve complex engineering problems independently and as part of a team
Experience working with international standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and ASME Y14.5
Criteria – Desired
Experience with the Autodesk CAD package
Experience in propulsion design
Strong understanding of designing for manufacture
Experience preparing engineering drawings for manufacture
Experience with composite design and manufacture
Experience with fabrication, assembly, integration and testing
RPEng, RPEQ or equivalent accreditation
Experience working within an Agile environment
NV1 Security Clearance (preferred).
